Maya's Story...
Hi, my name is Maya!

I am so happy now to be healthy and safe, but my life wasn't always like that. Before I was rescued my owner didn't like me very much. I lived outside 24/7 and I didn't get much attention. I was always dirty, I didn't feel too good and I had puppies when I was only 7 months old! My owner decided he didn't want me anymore and got rid of me. But I'm glad he did because now I am safe, and now I am looking for a loving home that will work with me. Because of my past I am pretty nervous and shy, but I promise I will warm up, you just need to give me time, I am really sweet. :) I like to play the fenced in backyard at my foster mom's house and I get along with all the dogs there. I am now almost a year old and ready to find that forever home that will love on me for the rest of my life and help me become the confident dog I know I can be.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maya, a Atlanta Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever for sale in Atlanta, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Atlanta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Atlanta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Atlanta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Atlanta paves the way for another one to be saved.
