My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! My name is Baxter and I'm a really neat guy. I am clearly big, mixed-breed boy, probably American Bulldog, Boxer and Romeo Dog. Okay, so I made up that "Romeo" part, but I truly am a LOVERBOY! I like to give kisses and I think I am a lap dog, even though I weigh a good, solid 70-80 lbs. Give me a couch to lay on and I'm in hog heaven!
I love to jump around and play and romp... and I even like the snow! But I sure do prefer being indoors with the A/C on during the hot summer days, where I have my special blankies to lay on and my chew bones or stuffed Kongs to chew on! I just like being wherever my "people" are and once I get my excercise time, I am a big snuggle bunny! If you need a buddy to watch a movie with, run errands around town, or someone to warm your feet while you work on the computer, I'm your man!
I'm very smart if I do say so myself! I know sit, down, shake and quickly learn new tricks, especially if treats are involved! I have good housemanners, am cratetrained, housetrained, know how to do stairs and everything! I'm very clever about getting out when I want to so when I'm outside I should be closely supervised within a fence or kept on a leash.
I don't remember all of my past but I remember being lost in a blizzard on a country road. One of the Happy Dogs volunteers spotted me and took me inside, gave me food and water and a soft, warm place to sleep. I was adopted once, I really loved all of those little girls but mom got really scared that I would hurt her new baby. I never did anything more than look at her but mom was afraid and I got sent back.
I'm okay with most other dogs, especially a large female to play with, but it's really an individual thing. I would also love being an only dog where I can have all of the attention! I love to terrorize cats so the volunteers here don't think I should go to a home with cats. They also think very small dogs should not live with me either since I have a rather rough play style.

I know I'm a really good boy and I'm waiting for my AWESOME forever family! If you think it's you, what are you waiting for? Send an email to the Happy Dogs Rescue volunteers!
-All My Love,
Baxter
