Dixie's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Dixie's Story...
Dixie is a 2 year old black and tan hound mix with a curly tail. She was rescued from a family that was not taking care of her - she had lots of puppies and not much to eat. Dixie has blossomed in her foster home and is a wonderful companion.

She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on heartworm preventative. She is house trained and loves to play with other dogs. She gets along well with cats too. She walks on a leash, yet she will jump a short fence. She loves attention and can't wait for a new home! (AE)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Staunton Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
