My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abby is a pretty young girl with a big heart. She is a gentle and loving pup that would make an ideal family companion. She is generally quiet in the home and is much more interested in being with people than with other pets. She is only approximately 7 months old but her calm, relaxed demeaner makes her appear wise beyond her age. She is currently just under 50 lbs.

Abby is an easy-going gentle soul. Affectionate, attentive and always looking to please, Abby will be a wonderful pet and companion for just about any situation. She would be very devoted and loyal to her family. With strangers she is open and friendly and she gets along well with other family pets. She is a gentle dog however and would be best as an only dog in the home or with another dog that was respectful and not to high energy. She is playful with people and tolerant of other dogs but does not like other dogs jumping all over her.

Abby will need further training and socialization like any pup but you should never feel the need to raise your voice or train her with anything but positive reinforcement as she is very sensitive and always trying to do whatever is asked of her. She has a lovely soft coat that is easy to care for and she sheds very little. She is currently crated when her foster family is out of the house or at night for sleeping but she would much prefer to be in the same room as her people. Being that she is still a pup it would be best to continue crating her for her own safety or until she can be fully trusted in the home alone.

Abby would do best in a home with a backyard to play in and with a walk each day for further socialization and exercise. The most important thing for Abby is that she is included as part of the family and is able to be with her people as much as possible. She is a very people oriented dog and her favourite thing in life would be to feel that she is doing exactly what you want her to do.

If you think this sweet girl would be a good fit for your family, please visit our website at http://uglymutts.com and submit an application for consideration.
