Here is what Bentley's foster family had to say about him:
Bentley is a gentle, strong, giant. He will play fetch with anyone and will be your best friend if you will scratch his back. As a matter of fact he loves his back scratched so much that while standing and getting his back scratched he will shake one of his back legs in gleeful response. You should be warned to spell words like w-a-l-k or o-u-t-s-i-d-e.
There isn't an aggressive bone in Bentley's body and he loves everyone including children of all ages. He is just a big, happy-go-lucky boy that doesn't let anything faze him including loud boisterous dogs in his face or loud children running around. He has no prey drive whatsoever and has no interest even in squirrels when out for his walk.
He LOVES his crate. I had to fight him to allow me to fix the cushioning. He comes in and out of it during the day. I just leave the door open. He doesn't need to be crated though. I have left him home alone for up to six hours without any issues. He has no fear of anything and is a really calm and confident dog. In the home he is very calm, quiet and relaxed but he does come alive when you take him out for his walk.
Bentley should continue on a good diet to help improve his coat but he doesn't seem to shed. I have run my hands though his coat but nothing seems to come out. He is fully house trained and knows his basic commands such as sit, come and stay. He will need further leash training as he does pull but we are working on it. Bentley doesn't seem to have any bad habits or issues that would worry anyone. He is not a counter surfer or destructive in any way.
He greets everyone calmly and quietly with just a smile and wagging tail. He loves everyone and would be fine with children of all ages.
My best guess is that this guy is actually Mastiff-Lab mix, which equals a gentle giant. Other than a good daily walk this guy has no demands.
