Hunter's Story...
Hi! My name is Hunter and I am a handsome Chocolate Lab mix with bright yellow eyes. I am very friendly and am very good in a home environment. I am housebroken and i get along very well with other dogs. Even though i love kids, i was once treated badly by them... so it woud probably be best if i was in a home with older kids or no kids at all. I can't wait to find my forever home that will love me and take care of me. With my old owner, the wife didn't like dogs of any kind... even though i was a really good dog she just didn't love me. She told the husband to choose betwen her and me. Unfortunately he chose her and was on his way to the vet to euthanize me when someone rescued me. I am absolutely a great dog.... my life has been saved once.. will you save me forever? My adoption fee is $150 and that includes up to date shots and neutering (done). If you would like to adopt me, email adoptions@starnorth.org for the application or call 218.245.3732 for more information. My personality type is TEACHER'S PET: I’ve got it all — smart, fuzzy, four legs, love to learn and live to please. Go ahead, teach me anything. Sit, stay, balance your checkbook, I can do it all. Keep me entertained and I’ll be yours forever.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hunter, a Coleraine Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever for sale in Coleraine, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog from a breeder in Coleraine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Coleraine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Coleraine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Coleraine paves the way for another one to be saved.
