Fiona's Story...
Once upon a time there was a Leprechaun who was very lonely and really wanted to own a dog of his own, particularly a German Shepherd. Unfortunately, every one knows that Leprechauns are known as "the little people" due to their short stature and German Shepherd dogs are not small. The leprechaun searched far and wide in the hopes of finding a Leprechaun-sized German Shepherd. It's a shame he didn't think to check our website because we have Fiona, the perfect dog for a Leprechaun - or for someone who wants a small German Shepherd. Fiona is a lovely small sable long haired German Shepherd. This girl is a charmer - sweet, affectionate, house-trained. Her coat is long and lovely and she's about height of an Australian shepherd. Fiona has settled well into her foster home and gets along well with the two normal sized German Shepherds. Her bark is full sized and she does alert to sounds but is not overly noisy.

Fiona is a perfect dog for someone who wants the personality and looks of a German Shepherd but at a slightly smaller size.
Fiona will be ready to go once she has completed heartworm treatment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Houston German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Houston, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
