WE ARE A SMALL RESCUE, OVERWHELMED BY THE NUMBER OF DOGS WE HAVE IN OUR FOSTER PROGRAM AND ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER OR CALL UNTIL WE HAVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
PeeWee is an approx. 5 year old male, stray. We believe that PeeWee was part of a breeding program and either dumped by his owners or broke out of his enclosure in an attempt to escape his terrible life. PeeWee shows signs of neglect, leading us to believe that he was on the lam from a puppymill. He's now stumbled his way onto easy street!
He is resting at our vet, being treated for a shelter acquired respiratory infection. We had to wait to neuter him until the scald wounds on his scrotum healed. Scald is caused from sitting in a caustic substances(urine) for long periods of time, burning the tissue. In PeeWee's case, he probably lived in a crate that was rarely cleaned.
He also has a condition called entropion on his right lower lid and a small tumor on the left lower lid. He is now recovering from neuter and correction of both lid issues. He will be transferred to a foster home soon.
It is unknown at this time if he is good with other dogs or will be good with children. Updates soon.
He is up to date on shots.
Update: Peewee has some arthritis that made him a bit cranky in his previous foster home. He has begun treatment. It would probably be best that he go to a home with no other dogs and no children under 12.
