Hi there,
Thank you for inquiring about Magoo.
Magoo was taken on by Smashface's founder as his personal project. He fought to pull him from the shelter as he was set to be put down due to his extreme neglect, emaciation, and state of health. Now, five months, and over $3,400 later, Magoo is doing well, is almost fully haired, housebroke, and crate trained. If you were to see his before pics, it's hard to believe it's even the same dog.(we have the before pics) Please make sure you have prior bully breed and or Pit Bull experience if you're interested in adopting Magoo. He is a total sweetheart, lover, great fetcher, athletic, hiker, etc..... He will need some basic training, as our main focus has been his health and recovery. He does know sit, down, and crawl. Stay is a tough one for him right now, but he is crated most of the day as he is stuck at the rescue facility, and is a bit stir crazy. His three day vacation with an amazing foster in Malibu took care of all that extra energy, and he was not crated once. We have great videos of Magoo that have a you tube link at the bottom of this email. He knows his bed, and likes to play with his toys and sleep on it. He does have issues with aggressive and or un-neutered males (as most Bulldogs do), and he is better with dogs his size and larger. With the right dog, he loves to play, and even becomes very submissive with large breed females. He has nice energy and is very active, yet, not hyper in the house at all. He loves kids, but he will not be placed with todlers and or young children.
He just came back from a three day foster at a house in Malibu, and did great, our volunteer fosters also sent a lot of great pics. Magoo can go with other dogs, but it has to be the right dog and owner combo. He can not and will not be placed with an un-altered, or aggressive male dogs. For the most part he only gets along with female dogs, although he plays here with some males in the pack, he know them well and they are not aggressive. He plays here with 12 to 15 other bullies, and Mastiffs, but the founder has 19 years experience and can foresee and head off any signs of aggression. Magoo was severely neglected, and he deserves the love and affection he never got.
Magoo is now 9 to 10 months old.
He LOVES to play fetch and chew his rawhide. He is a non barker.
His adoption fee is has been waived due to his skin condition and allergies. Magoo requires a high quality diet and constant care for his skin allergies including medicated baths. Magoo has been adopted out and returned five times now. Please think it through before considering adopting Magoo. If you are not equipped or willing to provide the care he needs, then he is not the dog for you. His paws have a tendency to swell, be red, and irritated.
He is100% crate trained, and socialized with all the other dogs in the program. He will be placed as an only dog, and or with female dogs only. He loves to play and cuddle and gets along great with kids (older) and adults alike.
He is up-to-date on all shots, dewormed, micro chipped, has already been fixed, and comes with a free vet visit/health check at our vet.
