Terra's Story...
Hiya! My name is Terra and I am lovely 1 year old girl looking for a forever home. Some people say I am a social butterfly, I get a little confused by that because I am actually a Basset mix, but they are spot on with the social part! I am great with other dogs and people of all ages! I am happy and wiggly and yearning to experience more of this great big world we live in. Do you think you are home that can show me all the good things life has to offer? If so, fill out an application at pixieproject.org and send it in to schedule a meet and greet! I am fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $180 and I am currently living in foster care.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Terra, a Portland Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Portland, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
