BASIL. Basil is beyond cute--a little11 month old, 10 pound, neutered male wire-haired dachshund. He has been through puppy training and he can sit, heel, lay down, stay and walks great on a leash. Basil is a charmer; but he is a puppy and needs to be with a family who will love and cherish him and all his youthful exuberance. Basil is VERY active and perhaps a little needy. He would thrive with older kids to play with or would be happy with spayed female, preferably a young active doxie like himself. He sleeps in a kennel at night, but would certainly not be adverse to sleeping with his human! Basil is house trained and plays great with older kids and other dogs. Could be happily placed with a spayed female doxie. He barks minimally, and is very smart and active. Here's a fun dog that loves people. He has never snapped or growled and is just a perfect little pup. This is truly a great dog who needs a family that will give him lots of attention and playtime. He also is happy to travel by car and is learning not to jump up on people, who is is so excited to get to meet. Don't miss out on this adorable little fellow.=====The adoption fee is $295, no exceptions. The fees include spay/neuter, rabies, dhpp, bordetella, pyrantel, advantage treatment, grooming including nails, as well as complete exam at our doxie vet. Each dog comes with all new doxie halter, new toys and blankets. All in all, an investment greater than the adoption fee. Please go to www.odr-inc.org. We have very strict adoption guidelines because we require an escape proof fenced yard and someone who is home most of the day. Kids over 10 are ok, but no cats less they've been raised with them, or other small prey animals (these are hunters).
