My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Freckles, and I am very new here. I came to rescue as part of a group of 6 Dalmatians from a mill breeder. As you can see I am very handsome; I am very shy and scared though. As of right now (November 2011) I and my friends are going to need a lot of attention and socialization before we are ready for adoption. Rockyspot wants people to know that we are out there though - please ask them any time about me or any of my friends, and how we are doing!

UPDATE, January 3, 2012: 4 of the 6 mill Dalmatians that came into rescue responded well to being around humans and are now in foster-to-adopt homes that have experience with socializing dogs. However, 1-year-old Freckles is one of the two that still need a lot of work. He is still almost completely feral and remains terrified of people. He is not vicious at all, and is NOT a lost cause... but he needs a lot of time, quiet, and individual attention that he isn't able to get right now at the busy rescue. We are looking for a very special home or foster home for him with someone who has experience with dog training and socialization (especially feral dog socialization). The longer Freckles goes without the intense one-on-one human interaction he badly needs if he is to trust people, the more likely it is that he will go unadopted and live out the rest of his life here at the rescue.
