My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie is so well behaved and loving. She just wants to sit with you or near you. She is a great bed snuggler. She is very social, loves kids and does not jump up on people. She has a soft shiny coat and loves to do whatever you are up too. She is a young adult dog that would fit well into just about any situation. She currently weighs approximately 50 lbs.

Here is what her foster family had to say about Sophie:

Sophie loves to be with people. She is great with cats but wary of some dogs. She could be homed with another non-alpha and friendly dog. She seems to prefer breeds smaller than herself. She is fine with meeting dogs on leashes, but seemed too intimidated for the dog park. She yelped when they all ran up to her. She preferred to just walk around the perimeter (at a pretty decent heel, off leash). She is great at the barn, plays with the barn cats and is fine with the dogs up there as long as it is one on one. When we hay and water, she is off leash and just keeps beside you all the time.

She is fine in a crate but we haven’t used it since the second day. She sleeps on the bed and when we’re not here, we leave her the run of the upstairs. She shows no sign of separation anxiety and is quite content to just wait for your return when you go out without her. Sophie is quiet in the home and only barks when someone comes to the door.

Sophie has good recall and will come to her name. She knows her basic commands such as sit, off, and is learning down, but stay isn’t great. She is fully house trained. She is also crate trained but does not need to be crated. Sophie also rides well in the car and calmly sits in the back. She is pretty good on leash and is she starts to pull at all will stop quickly with correction. She never chews things or counter surfs or tries to steal food ever. She never bolts at the door or tries to get run off as she is so happy just to be with you.

Sophie would be great for a variety of homes. She is settled down so she could be with kids or older people and be happy with both. I know she would love a yard. She does jog on leash with my daughter so she seems pretty well rounded. Just has to get her confidence up with other dogs.

If you think Sophie would be a good choice for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
