My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lilybelle (Lily) is a beautiful 3 1/2 year old harlequin female with one hazel eye and one blue eye and is soft as a baby duck. Lily has been in her foster home for nearly two months and she is truly starting to blossom! Lily loves to run and play in the yard with her foster Dane brother and sister, especially her sister. Her Dane brother is visually impaired and becomes overwhelmed easily when running and playing. Her resource guarding issues have begun to subside. Lily is no longer reactive regarding food now that she knows she will be fed on a regular schedule and receive treats when the other dogs receive them. And she is learning to share toys and her foster mom and dad with her foster Dane sister and brother and Lab brother. Lily is still reactive when sleeping or laying down when the other dogs come near her. Considering some scars on Lily’s body, her foster parents wonder if she may have been attacked by another dog while sleeping. Lily sits and waits for her meals, has not taken anything from the counters although she will put her face on the counter and sniff, she will back off when told no or off, and has not chewed on or destroyed anything in the home. The garbage is still kept out of Lily’s reach as she will try to open the trash can. And she no longer tries to open baby gates as long as she is left with a companion. Lily still does not do well when crated. She will eat and take treats in her crate, but does not do well when crated for any period of time. She has been trustworthy in the house and has earned run of the living room and kitchen with her Dane sister and Lab brother during the day. She will chase squirrels and has not been cat tested as there are no cats in her foster home. Lily still is not the best on riding in the car becoming very nervous. Her foster home continues to work on making car trips a pleasant experience. Lily is truly a very sweet girl who wants nothing more than to love and be loved. She requires a quite home with a set routine and a Dane savvy, patient family with older children (15+) willing to work with her as she adjusts to her new home. A new family that loves to walk and a submissive canine brother or sister would be nice or a mom and/or dad home part of the day, retired or working from home would be best. And windows to look out of during the day would be a plus! Lily loves to look outside and she also loves to lie in the sun on a cushy bed. If you have a comfy sofa and a big, patient heart won’t you consider this beautiful, loving girl as an addition to your family?
