Missy's Story...
Missy is a sweet 6 yr old purebred black lab. She and cattledog friend, Wrangler, were brought into a local shelter after being picked up as strays. Turned out they had gone for an "unauthorized walk". Even though they had identification, their owner never picked them up.
Subsequently, they were taken into rescue to help them find new homes.

Missy is great with other dogs and easy to have around. She is completely house trained and doesn't get on the furniture. Other than needing to learn to take a treat with a bit more gentleness, she has no bad habits. She only wants love and attention. Missy would benefit from someone who could work on her leash training and take her walking. She could stand to lose a few pounds.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy, a Phoenix Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
