CARLY's Story...
Carly is a lovely female 4 year old purebred Border Collie. She is traditionally marked black and white with a luxurious rough coat. Carly, along with her Chihuahua brother, were owner surrenders in the field to Animal Control because she barked too much. This is perplexing to BCIN as she seems to have been de-barked. This means that her vocal chords were severed to prevent her from barking, however, she can still vocalize a bit. BCIN does not advocate this cruel practice. It is our experience that dogs that have been debarked are more anxious. Animal Control felt that her owners tied Carly’s mouth shut to totally silence her due to the hair loss on her muzzle. It is evident that Carly had been long neglected, as she was filthy and all matted. Look at this gorgeous girl now, as they don’t come any prettier! Carly is quite animated, as she loves to cock her head when you talk to her. She enjoys a good romp and is quite playful. Carly knows basic obedience commands, walks well on a leash, rides well in the car, and is crate trained. Not sure if this poor girl was ever let in the house given her poor condition she was in when she was surrendered to the shelter. If you rub her ears and massage her, she is putty in your hands. She is so grateful for any attention you give her. Carly is looking for that special home to call her very own and would love nothing better that to be a pampered pooch showered with lots of love.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CARLY, a San Pedro Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
