My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is SuzyBlu …
SuzyBlu is a wonderful mixed breed, we originally thought she might be a Rottie Mix, ten an Australian Shep Mix but since I have been fostering her for 7 weeks I think that SuzyBlu is a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix … she has the body shape, and bright blue eyes are common in that breed but whatever she it is a wonderful and gorgeous mix. Her eyes are incredible like deep blue sea water.
SuzyBlu was pulled from a South Carolina Shelter just one day before she was set to be euthanized and one day before she gave birth to 13 … yes, 13 puppies. She was emaciated when she and the pups arrived here in NY but with a steady diet of good food and love we have gotten her to her perfect weight at 50 pounds. Her pups have been weaned she has been spayed and NOW she is ready for a family of her own to LOVE her.
We estimate her age at 12-14 months, she is housetrained and well mannered but still puppy like and can be impish at times. She walks okay on leash and is learning her basic obedience. Suzy has a supersoft shiny coat that does not shed much. She is good with all dogs and children has not yet met cats but we think she would do well with a cat used to dogs. She is being fostered in a home with a large fenced yard, other dogs, birds, men, women, kids and a doggie-door. She is thriving in that environment so that is our ideal home but all loving homes will be considered.
Canine Coaching is offering a discount basic training class for Suzy’s new family … and it’s a great way to bond with a new pet !!
Suzy is good in the car and loves to be near “her person” she is friendly and happy. This poor girl didn’t have the easiest start in life but we would like to be sure she spends the rest in a loving family … is it yours ?? if so, please complete the required application !! Thank you
“Paws” for a moment and read this listing completely !!!

The Adoption Facts:
1. You must be 21 years or older to adopt
2. We DO NOT place pets more than 100 miles out of NYC
3. An adoption application is required (link below)
4. There is a pre-screening process for potential home placement,
including a phone interview and the initial application. (This benefits you, our foster
homes and the pet.) This is all done BEFORE you meet the pet.
5. Be advised that we do respond to each and every completed application within
a 14 day period. Please be patient we know you are anxious to adopt
there are only so many hours in a day. We are trying our best. At this time we are
unable to respond to emails with questions (will he fit my home? Is he available? I have xyz will he like it here?)
We recommend completing an application after which we will be able to answer ALL your questions.
Go to http://www.northstarplacement.petfinder.com for more information on the adoption guidelines.
Do not send e-mail inquires concerning availability, if you see a pet listed at the web site, then the pet is definitely available.
