My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated 23rd...Meet Sunny, a very sweet pup with a the very best temperament, who is extremely loving. He is a very, very sweet puppy weighing around 35 pounds and about 6 months old with silky soft fur. Sunny doesn't have an alpha bone his body, and thus he gets along with everyone. When he meets a new dog he proceeds to lick their face, it's love at first sight all of the time. He loves playing with all of the resident dogs. Sunny is not mouthy, and takes treats very nicely. Sunny is a bit cautious when you first meet him, and takes some time to warm up to you, but when he does, he will be your best friend. Sunny will make a really great pet if only given a chance. Unfortunately because he is not running into your arms when you meet him, people seem to be put off by that. But really, he is a very, very loving dog, just cautious when it comes to new people. Once given the chance to be loved, he will love you right back. Please give Sunny his holiday wish, a family of his very own.

PLEASE NOTE THAT BREED AND SIZE AT MATURITY ARE ONLY GUESSES.

Sunny is being fostered in a home in Naperville around kitties, other dogs, and children and he is wonderful with them all. Especially with other dogs, he is fantastic and we have not met a dog that he doesn't love. He is crate trained, but needs work leash training. He doesn't pull on the lease, he just doesn't move when put on the leash. He loves to run around and once he is leash trained I am sure he would really enjoy walking, and would probably make a terrific running or walking companion. Sunny loves playing with his balls, toys, and chewing on his bones. There has been no bone, food, or toy aggression or guarding ever seen. This is really one great pooch that you will want to meet. Sunny has never ever tried to jump our 4 ft fence, but he will jump the baby gates in the house, so we do crate him when we leave for a long period of time because he is a puppy and puppies can get into trouble.

Sunny came from a high kill shelter in Kentucky when his time was about up. Looking at his adorable face and seeing his personality, it's hard to imagine how such a wonderful dog could end up alone and unwanted, minutes from dying. Lucky for him, we saw his face, knew his loving potential and saved him so he could meet a wonderful family deserving of his love. He would be the perfect pet to add to any family - with or without children. A very gentle, loving dog that you HAVE to come and meet. See for yourself what a great pup he is.

Given his personality, we think it would be best if Sunny was adopted into a home with other dogs for him to play with. It doesn't matter the personality of your dog, Sunny will get a long with him. Shy isn't the word for his personality, a little cautious might be better said.

You will also receive a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic, Yorkville Animal Hospital or Wheaton Animal Hospital, a training dvd, and tons of coupons for Petco.
