Brigit's Info...

I am housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with kids.

Brigit's Story...
Brigit was found as a stray, and three days later gave birth to 9 beautiful babies. She has a great personality, very friendly, obedient and easily trainable. Like most Basset Hounds, she enjoys being around people and hanging out on the couch. She seems to do well with house training and does well in a crate. She can get excited when she sees people she likes, and will jump a little, but only barks when she wants something. After her time on the streets, she is still adapting to “staying put” in one place, and has a tendency to try to escape. She has been known to dig, and try to jump a fence, but probably just out of anxiety. She just needs the confidence and stability of a loving permanent home, and she will be your best friend!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brigit, a Houston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Houston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
