My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE NOTE: As of 2/20/12 Domino is on a trial adoption. He will either be adopted and deleted from the available list or he will be reinstated as available for adoption within 3 weeks.

Domino needs a home with no large dogs, no doggy door and a person home most of the day. If you don’t match these qualifications, please don’t apply for this puppy. Adoptions will be in San Diego and Orange Counties only.

Domino is almost too cute to be true. He is a 6-month-old purebred Papillon puppy with darling black and white markings and a wonderful personality. He is very intelligent and amusing in his play and, while he rarely slows down, when he does he is an affectionate lapdog. He is shy upon first meeting but quickly warms up to regular visitors and will easily adapt to life with his adopter(s)

Domino needed a puppy booster shot when he came into rescue so he didn’t make his first “public appearance” until Dec. 3, at which time he proved to be a real trooper, parading through Balboa Park with about 50 other Papillons and thousands of people for a couple of miles. He is great with other dogs once he realizes they are safe and want to play. More socialization is a must for this boy, who shows every indication that he will be a friendly, outgoing adult.

This pup is good on a leash and in the car. He is crate-trained and close to housebroken (Paps are notoriously hard to housetrain as puppies). Altogether, he is quite irresistible. And he is very sturdy for a Papillon. He is solid and, unlike many Paps, does not have thin, fragile bones. He is going to be on the large side when grown, probably 10 lbs. or more. For this reason, we are willing to adopt him to a family with young children who are gentle, as long as it is clear that every member of the family understands not to leave doors or gates open or to leave inedible toys on the floor.

Our adoption process includes an application, a home check, and vet or personal references.

If you are interested in adopting Domino, please email us at paprescuesocal@gmail.com for an adoption application.
