Rocky Blue - In Maine's Story...
ROCKY BLUE
Freeport, Maine

Rocky Blue is an ADORABLE 6-7 month old pup who appears to be a mix of a Beagle and possibly a Blue Heeler (Cattle Dog.) Whatever his genetics may be - he is a cutie!

Rocky Blue is approximately 35-40lbs and still growing - so will be a medium--large sized dog.

He is an energetic, outgoing pup who loves to be included in everything his humans are doing. He would thrive in a home that will provide a good amount of daily exercise and playtime. He would LOVE to have another young canine companion to play with in his new home!

Rocky Blue is a very smart boy who will excel in obedience training classes and could possibly be a candidate for agility.

This is a very charming boy who is hard not to fall in love with! However - Rocky is not a good choice for someone looking for a couch potato type dog or a dog that can be left alone for an typical 8-9 hour workday without an exercise break.

If you have room in your heart and home for Rocky Blue - please email chabbe@aol.com for an adoption application.

Homes considering puppies must be prepared for:
-- Flexible potty training schedules. Puppies can only hold it for 1 hour per month of age.
-- Crate training to keep the pup from chewing you out of house and home.
-- Supervision with children and obedience training
-- Several hours of scheduled exercise each day
-- Socialization - a good dog must be exposed to a lot of stimulus as a puppy (other dogs, humans, social situations) so that new people and new situations do not intimidate them as adults.
-- Homes that want to have well-balanced dogs must put the time and effort into training a puppy. It is a lot of work. Please do not adopt a puppy without first considering the pros and cons of having a puppy and making sure that you are prepared for a lifetime commitment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky Blue - In Maine, a Freeport Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
