Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Corky the Yorkie was a stray in Alabama and he traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in late November. Corky is about four and a half years old. He is missing his right eye but his left eye is currently healthy and he sees well with it. He is recovering from some hair loss and a skin infection due to a flea allergy from his days as a stray; he is on some medication plus a grain free diet and fish oil capsules and is responding well. His skin looks better and his hair is filling in. And, otherwise, he is in good health! And he is a true delight! He immediately made himself at home and learned our routine. By the second night he joined in the chorus of our dogs barking for their dinner. He has made friends with our other BDRA foster, Ubu, and he gets along with all of the dogs in our home (we have six, including Corky). Corky is friendly and enjoys people, dogs and our cat. He is just the right balance - in between being dominant and being submissive – he is not a pushover but also is not bossy. He is a happy dog who enjoys life. And sometimes he smiles and shows his teeth! In addition, Corky sits on command. He is housetrained and crate trained. He sleeps quietly through the night. He loves to eat and he walks on a leash. He likes playing with toys and will go after a toy that is thrown for him. He loves to ride in the car. He likes to sit in laps and also nap at our feet. He enjoys being groomed and stands very still for the blow dryer after his bath as if he had been groomed many times before. He also lets us brush his teeth every night. Corky is a great little dog with a long, bright future ahead. He is ready to share his love and wonderful spirit with his forever home.
