My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beau is a real little character. He is friendly with everyone, always smiling and his tail is always wagging. He is a young dog that loves to play and who would be an excellent child's companion. Beau is a young dog approximately a year old and weighs just over 15 lbs. He would do well as a second dog in the home or as an only pet as long as he got lots of loving and someone that liked to play with him.

Here is what his foster family had to say about Beau:

Beau is a wonderful, sweet dog. He loves people and other dogs. He is a beautiful and healthy dog, with a long, smooth coat, shining eyes and good teeth that he likes to show when smiling!

He really likes to be with people, will lie at your feet, gives lots of kisses and comes when he is called. He has a good amount of energy, is playful and loves to go on walks. He can jump high and is quite agile. He does pull on his leash because he is excited to be out in the world. He has a very successful visit to a dog park where he played happily with large and small dogs.

Beau does not like being in a crate, and we do not crate him in the home. I think he didn't like the injustice of our dog free to roam while he was in a crate that first night! He hasn't shown any interest in chewing household items; he does like approved chew toys!

Beau will bark at the window if he sees any suspicious or interesting activity, and he does bark at our cat and our bunny. He would be a good companion for another dog; he hasn't shown any aggressive behaviour with dogs or people. Ideally, he would live with someone who is home a lot because he really likes companionship. Being small, he does need to go out more frequently. He would enjoy a secure fenced yard, but with frequent short walks, he could be good in an apartment.

If you think Beau would be a good fit for your family, please visit our website at http://uglymutts.com and submit an application for consideration.
