My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Duke :-) Thank you for visiting my web page. It is hard to believe that I have my own web page now, so many things happened to me over the past month. I was lost and cold and very hungry and scared just a month ago. Then someone took me to the shelter. I was happy there and played with the other dogs in my kennel and met some kitties too. I had food, the ladies were nice to me and I was happy. One day they said that I was "out of time" and I was scared again. I am so grateful that the ladies found a "rescue" for me to go to, they said they will take good care of me and find me a family that will love me forever. Then some other nice people helped me on my trip to the rescue. I got to ride in cars and met so many new friends these days!

So I am with the rescue now :-) First they gave me a spa treatment and my coat is fluffy, soft and shiny now. And they say that I smell like a rose (I am not sure whether dogs are supposed to smell like roses, but I feel good). They told me that I caught a bad cold so I took antibiotics for the cold and they treated me for heartworms too. So now I have a clean bill of health and I am feeling well! I gained some weight and I enjoy my meals, they tell me that I have a very healthy appetite. I am vaccinated so that I don't get sick and I am also neutered. I am a young boy maybe 2 years old, I am not sure, I did not count. My mom says I am a very good and gentle boy, I don't have "accidents" (whatever that means) in my foster home. I am crate trained and I like relaxing in my crate or on my soft and fluffy doggie bed. I like going for walks with my mom too. I love attention and snuggling with my new friends. I like other dogies and even kitties. Life is very good and I am looking forward to meeting the forever family that the my friends promised me.

It is our policy not to place our dogs into homes with young children since we don't have foster homes with young children to evaluate the dogs. The adoption begins with the adoption application: we do not have the manpower to respond to detailed inquiries before we receive the application. Our adoption procedures are described on the home page, please read them carefully. A donation of $275 is required at the time of adoption. If you can offer our sweet boy Duke a loving forever home, please submit an on-line application by
