Here is what Johnny's foster family had to say about him:
Johnny is a sweet, cuddly, loving dog that just wants a family to love him! I have never seen a dog that loves belly rubs as much as Johnny! He loves walking and chasing a ball at the dog park, and just laying down in the house. He would love a family that is home more than not, and someone that liked to just hang out with him. He is really just a perfect dog, and we have grown attached to him already! He is so sweet and makes friends where ever he goes!
Johnny is very friendly towards everyone he meets and is very good with other dogs, although he does get a bit over exited with small children, so he should be supervised when he is with them. I don’t think Johnny has a mean bone in his body! He has never shown aggression towards any one. He is not shy with any one he meets! We have not tested Johnny with cats or small animals yet, but he is very friendly when meeting other dogs on a walk.
Johnny is fine with being put in his crate, and does not whine when we put him in, and sometimes will go in by himself for a nap! He does not seem to show any signs of separation anxiety when we leave but we have not left him for more than three hours at a time. I think if he was left for too long he would get bored and try to get out of his crate so he would need intelligent toys if left for a full day.
Johnny’s favourite thing to do is to go for LONG walks! He has lots of stamina and would do best with a couple of good walks each day. He has a moderate level of energy, and is calm in the house and will just lie down and sleeps, but don’t let that fool you he is always ready and willing to go for a walk.
Johnny has a gorgeous coat with beautiful patterns and he does not shed a lot at all!!!
We have never heard a bark come out of Johnny! It’s amazing!
Johnny knows how to sit when you have a treat, and is working on “stay” He is very eager to please, and learns quickly. He walks very well on leash, and is pretty much completely leash trained. He is very good in the house when you are there but his new family should continue crating him when they are not in the home until he can be fully trusted alone. Johnny does not try to bolt for the door when you are leaving.
Johnny would be the perfect fit for a family with kids. He does like to be where the action is, and is a playful dog so would do best with respectful children and enjoyed playing with him. He is very cuddly and loves affection from anyone. Over all he is just a sweet, sweet dog that would love to have a family with kids to play with and take him for walks. And when he is in the home, he is quiet and will just go lay down somewhere.
