My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Colby turned up on a woman's front porch about a year ago. She tried to find his owner to no avail. She kept him and raised him but now is being deployed and had to give him up. Colby is a gorgeous Aussie, possibly pure-bred but his tail has not been docked like most. Or perhaps he has some border collie or Sheltie in him. In the beginning Colby was reserved and didn't know how to play with toys. Now he has learned for sure! In the first few minutes of a greeting with a new person he can be cautious, especially if you try to pat him on top of his head. Once he feels comfortable, however, he is your best friend for life. He loves to play ball and will zip around the yard to grab the ball and return it to his human. He likes to walk around with his stuffed "baby" in his mouth and he just loves to kiss people. After the first few days in his new foster home he started to really play with the other dogs. He can be a little clingy with his human but the poor guy has been through so many changes and needs a chance to settle in with a forever family!

Colby is approximately 1-1/2 years old and weighs 44 lbs. He is such a sweet boy. He no longer needs to be crated in his southern foster home because he does not chew and is completely housetrained. He sits on command and loves to chase and play. He also loves the kiddie pools outside so he might be a great swimmer.

Like many of our adoptable cuties, Colby with a partner rescue or shelter in the south and will be coming to New England soon!

To apply to adopt Colby, please visit our web site here to find out about our adoption process.

Please note: we do not have a physical location, we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue!
