My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

9/29/12 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED

Adoption Fee: $275

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 8 years

Weight: 5 lbs.

9/17/12 - We are going to update Reno’s bio since he changed foster homes about 3 weeks ago due to some changes that were made in his previous foster home.

Seems Reno is quite the lap baby. He loves to be held and sit right next to you if you are watching tv. He co-exists fine in a home with pets that don’t want to engage him in play, but would also do great as an only pup. He will need a fenced yard to run around in since this help him get his excess energy out and has truly helped him. He does walk fine on a leash, but we have learned that he would do better with a fenced yard than doing business on a leash at all times. On the leash, he isn’t able to get his exercise and release energy and that is what caused a lot of his pacing in his previous foster home. He loves sleeping in the bed between his foster mom and dad and truly loves getting attention. Now since we are seeing a different side to Reno’s personality with the home change, he is ready for a home where it is not chaotic, not too many people, just a mom and dad (no children) to love him and the other pups are optional. Somewhere where he can be spoiled and loved. He gives a lot in return. Even raises up on your legs when you are sitting to be put up with you. Who wouldn’t want this in their life.

8/27/12 - Reno stills needs a home of his own where he can be a loved member of a family. He would not do well with young active children, but older ones would be fine. Reno co-exists fine around other pups, but won’t really play with them so would be good with others or by himself. He has nervous energy and loves to stay on the go. Busy little man with lots to see and do. He isn’t a clingy pup that always has to be in your lap or by you, but if you want to hold him, he will sit there all day if you don’t move him. He loves to be rubbed, but isn’t demanding about anything. If you are looking for a great guy that you don’t have to pamper 24/7, but will take every bit of attention you give him willingly, Reno is your guy. He just wants a home, a family and a last name.

1/1/12 - Reno is a sweet tiny little guy with an adorable face and zest for life. He does have a lot of nervous energy and can’t seem to not be pacing back and forth or in a circle. He has been checked out thoroughly and there is nothing wrong with Mr. Reno physically, it seems that he is just a little ADD. Out thoughts are that Reno was previously used for breeding and kept in a cage with nothing to do all day and very little space to do nothing in. Normally these dogs start to walk in circles because of the lack of space and boredom. He was picked up as a stray and brought to the pound undoubtedly after his previous “humans” were done with him and dumped him.

The vet estimated his age at 8 years old from his eyes and teeth, but you would never think he was 8 with the spunk and energy he has. He is happy, sweet and friendly and doesn't mind other dogs, but doesn't play with them. If you reach out for him or go to pick him up, he is timid and lowers to the ground, but once being held and petted, is fine and will give kisses. He hasn't attempted to play toys yet. He is working on his potty training and will do his business outside when brought, but still has mistakes. He loves eating and LOVES his treats which is excellent for training since he is so treat oriented. He will whine to get your attention or if he is just bored and needs to remind you he’s there and wishes to be talked to. He isn’t pushy with this, but you can tell that he appreciates whatever positiveness comes his way.
