My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ella is a gentle thing with a great sense of humour. She is very friendly and social with everyone including children of all ages. She is a sweet young dog that just wants to love and be loved - a wonderful family pet. She is a young dog just under a year old who weighs just 26 lbs.

Here is what Ella's foster mom had to say:

This little girl is a total sweetheart, and if I didn't already have two hairy beasts, I would definitely be thinking about keeping her. She is my little shadow and cuddle companion. She is quiet and polite. She is very smart and would do well at obedience – she figured out my uncarpeted stairs in the first 24 hours of coming into my house. She does need to be more socialized when at the off leash park, but she is fine when meeting people and other dogs on a leashed walk. We went to Petsmart to see Santa, and she just loved being swarmed by people, and cuddled right up to adults and children alike. When I first bought her home, all she wanted to do was lie down on soft things, so of course she sleeps on my bed with the other members of the zoo. She loves to come and get her morning cuddle! She would do well as an only dog, or a second companion.

Ella is fine in the house with the dogs and ignores the cats. She will bark at other dogs when she's on leash, but will be friendly. She played very hard with the bigger dogs, shepherds and Dobermans. She’s got no idea that she’s not as big as they are. She has no qualms about standing up for herself though. She was a bit concerned about traffic, but is getting used to it. Buses and loud trucks are still fire breathing dragons though. She is very quiet in the home and only barks when she thinks it is necessary – and she has a BIG bark for a little dog!

Ella is crated during the day while I'm at work. The only reason for this is that she is not yet 100% house trained but is well on her way. She is very polite, and knows sit, and come here, and wait. She will sit and wait for leash on and/or off of her own accord. She can hold her bowels during the day while I am at work, but can't always wait to pee. She hasn't yet learned to signal – if I catch her pacing then I put her outside.

She hasn't yet learned that car rides are good things. She is very quiet, and curls up until she's allowed to get out of the car. And right after I wrote that we went out, and she climbed into the car all by herself! It’s not yet a bounce into the car, but it won’t be long before it is!
