My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SEE VIDEO ALSO ON THIS PAGE! The best method of contact for quick response is by way of e-mail.

Henry is a 2/3-year old 25 lb. Corgi-Beagle mix rescued from the Devore Shelter on his last day. He is a smart dog who quickly learned the doggie door and to sit on command in one training session. He loves to chew on rawhide chews and is also learning to fetch. He is a happy dog who will give you sweet kisses and also enjoys rolling over and having his belly rubbed.

Henry is not a barker or howler as some Beagles are. In fact, his personality is very Corgi. While he is totally fine with all dogs, he is more people-oriented than dog-oriented, and he likes to shadow his people curiously to keep an eye on what they are doing (especially if it involves food!). Henry can be so serious at times! And then, he will have these bouts of total comical silliness that will have you laughing.

Henry is eager to please, but he will also need to be reminded that there are rules and boundaries. Like all herding dogs, Henry will need a home with plenty of mental stimulation. He would do well in an active household with people who will have fun training him to do tricks, or taking him on hikes, basically, including him in the family activities. He will also do well in a home with a female dog to tone down his need to be around the humans.

Henry is potty-trained, as well as crate-trained, but does not really care much to be in the crate. However, he can do fine with limited crating or not at all. Henry is neutered, de-wormed, fully vaccinated including rabies, and micro-chipped.
