Jackson's Story...
I would like to start off by thanking Bonnie, who is my Best Buddy. To find out more about CAAWS best buddy program and how you can become a best buddy visit www.caaws.org and click on best buddy program on the right hand side. Now for me,I am a male Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix. I was born approximately 2/06, have been neutered, am up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. I get along well with other dogs and cats, but sometimes I can get a little pushy for attention if I'm wanting it and another of the furkids is getting it. Typical child aren't I? My foster mom says that I am housebroken and will not go potty in my kennel. I will mark my territory at first, but it's a male thing. I'm very active so a fenced in yard is a must for me. I love to snuggle on the couch (once I've run out all my energy)and will be your best friend if you let me. Since I'm so very active I would not be good with small children. I would be fine with older children. If you are looking for a companion, I'm looking for a home. Let's talk over some kibble and water and see if our personalities will work together.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jackson, a Baton Rouge Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
