Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jonah came to BDRA from a Georgia shelter. He was turned in to the shelter because his owner went to jail. Jonah is very sweet! He has some puppy left in him - jumpy and excitable; a little training would do him wonders. He LOOVVESS his toys and is protective of them. He carries them with him wherever he goes. When he is asleep, he lays on them; I am not sure if this is similar to a security blanket type thing or what - but is ADORABLE!!! Jonah has just arrived and was recently neutered so is currently being kept apart from the other dogs… Jonah thinks he is a lap dog; he has no problem crawling on your lap or under your blanket. Jonah would make a GREAT guard dog as he barks at all sounds that are not familiar to him; however, for this same reason would require very close supervision around small children until they became familiar to him. If you talk to him - there is NO problem – he does very well with voice recognition. He does startle easily so it is imperative that you announce yourself because he IS NOT the dog that runs and hides when startled, he growls and barks. Jonah does wonderful on stairs; I had visitors at my house who thought he was a sighted dog because he manages the steps very well!! A little common sense and LOTS of understanding of blind dogs and he would make a great addition to any family!!
