Schroeder: 3 year old, black and tan male, 12" height, 13 lbs, natural ears, docked tail. Schroeder came into rescue, abused, hurt, and emaciated when found by the shelter, who begged me to take him. Lord only knows what he had been thru. This poor boy has had a rough life, he has healed, gained weight, and is starting to trust humans again. He would much rather be adopted by a household with only women, he has problems with men, everytime my husband is playing with the other dogs, or raises his hand to pet (underhand is fine) Schroeder gets very upset, and wants to protect. He has come a long way, and would need a very understanding adopter. He must be leashed when visitors come to the door, and be introduced very quietly with lots of reassurance and treats. Otherwise Schroeder is a wonderful lap warmer, bed snuggler, and is really doing well on his house training. He loves to play with toys, squeekies are best, has a ball chasing thrown objects, not much for bringing them back, so I just gather a bunch and let him go get them. He is quiet in the crate, I feed him there, since he is always hungry and wants everyone's food. He will also sleep in the crate, but would much rather snuggle under the covers with you, and he is a great little heater. He would do well as the only dog, no idea how he would do with cats or children, so I will say no to both. Yes, he needs further socialization, training, and manners, but most of all needs someone to give him a chance to be the wonderful dog I know he can become. He is neutered, up to date on all shots & vaccines, & heartworm negative. Please contact me if you would like to be that person.
Note: Schroeder is located in Commercial Point, OH - and we will not fly this boy.

About IMPS-Internet Miniature Pinscher Service, Inc. - OH region

About Our Rescue Group...

Internet Miniature Pinscher Service, Inc. (IMPS) was formed in July of 1998 with the adoption of Lister through the Miniature Pinscher e-mail group at saluki.org. For information on the Miniature Pinscher e-mail list, please visit www.minpinrescue.org . The IMPS mission is to improve the lives of homeless and abandoned Miniature Pinschers through rescue and the love and respect that comes with humane care, compassion and kindness. IMPS attempts to assist Miniature Pinschers in need by providing foster care, transport, adoptive homes, veterinary care, and other services and information for the well-being of Miniature Pinschers. All Miniature Pinschers placed through IMPS will be spayed or neutered prior to placement, and have been thoroughly evaluated by a breed representative for temperament and training needs.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our rescued min pins are now living in loving foster homes throughout the country and Canada. To start the process please fill out an IMPS Potential Home Application. . The success of IMPS is only possible with the volunteers who have agreed to help with the rescue and placement of miniature pinschers. Assistance from our team of volunteers includes fostering, assistance with owner give-ups & home checks, local shelter checks, and transport & placement of min pins to approved homes. IMPS is in need of volunteers in all of the above described areas. To volunteer, please fill out the IMPS Potential Home Application.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters must pass a veterinary reference check and home visit. IMPS requires reimbursement of all necessary veterinary costs (eg. the cost of the spay/neuter, microchipping, and any veterinary care required prior to placement), and in some instances, travel costs. A donation to the organization is requested with each adoption so that we may continue to care for chronically ill and/or severely injured foster dogs. In all cases, any expenses related to the adoption will be agreed upon prior to placement. While the Adoption expenses may be negotiable for some dogs, please remember that the care and upkeep of a dog, even the "King of Toys", requires some financial outlay, and if a small placement expense is beyond your means, you may wish to consider a pet which does not require as much care as the Miniature Pinscher.
