GUSTO's Story...

THIS IS GUSTO...and a friendlier, easier, cuter tri-colored, 14 lb, 2 yr old Shih Tzu/Peke mix you will never find! We saw this boy with his family, just waiting to impound him into the Baldwin Park shelter -- three days before Christmas!! Before we could make arrangements to rescue him, he was taken way, but fortunately, we were able to get him the next day. His guardians said he was a wonderful dog, and they were absolutely right!! He is potty trained, good with kids, great with other dogs, a terrific family dog....but they were moving and could not take him with them. Ugh. He was a little skittish at first, but only because he had no idea what was happening to him. At our foster home, he is a snugglebug, giving lots of kisses, playing with toys, and actually does do his business outside (but still, we never guarantee) and he LOVES to play with puppies! He is quiet and easy going...what more could you want in a dog! They gave us his age and his breeds....and said he loves everyone....and he does! So, if you are looking for a wonderful companion, Gusto would be him!! He would love a pal to play with and kids over 8 yrs old would be great! A yard would even be better! But as long as he gets a lot of love and attention, this young man will be happy!! Gusto loves life and he will love it more once he is in his forever home! Might that be with you?

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

GUSTO, a Los Angeles Pekingese/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese/Shih Tzu for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Pekingese/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Pekingese/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
