Heidi's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and good with kids.

Heidi's Story...
Heidi is a sweet 2 yr old purebred GSD who is also absolutely beautiful. She needs someone who will commit to training her and promise her a FOREVER home even if she isn't always perfect! Her puppy-like ways are endearing but sometimes a little out of hand, like when she pulls on her leash because she's excited, or runs off for a bit because she's got so much energy. She's affectionate and attentive, and very good with kids. Loves to play with balls and is rather goofy at times, but also alerts you when someone is approaching. Could knock down small children with her play, so not recommended for kids under 6. Needs to be introduced to other dogs slowly so she doesn't feel threatened. Sometimes chases cats for fun, although the cats can train her to leave them alone. German Shepherds bond closely with their people, so Heidi is confused about having to leave her previous family who left her at a shelter because they couldn't meet her needs. She needs to be placed in a permanent, loving home that can celebrate her young and energetic ways. Prior GSD experience a plus. Heidi is completely housetrained and crate-trained. If interested in Heidi, please forward your contact information to her foster mom at catchyfrase@yahoo.com

An application needs to be completed prior to a meet and greet. Heidi is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative.

Application, home-check, and references must be approved prior to adoption. For this reason, her adoptive home must be in the local area. Her adoption fee is $175; purebred with no papers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Heidi, a Jacksonville German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
