Caesar's Story...
Caesar is a large male German Shepherd which will require an owner with some experience in dog handling and dog ownership. He is very loving dog but must have structure in order understand household order. He is a dominant alpha dog and will bond quickly with new owners. However, because of his dominant or pushy character the owner must expect to administer fair but firm corrections when necessary. He has strong food drive which makes continued training easy and very enjoyable. Caesar is extremely compliant when he knows the rules. Caesar's current training is at a basic level, according to his foster, a certified dog trainer. He has a current understanding of the following commands: sit with sit stay, down with down stay, post which is a static placement, here which is a formal recall with a sit front, and Caesar which is used as general touch recall. His healing is still developing but very good. He is also potty trained and a very clean an attractive dog. He would best be placed in a household with no other dogs. However, if there are other dogs, I would suggest a household where the other dogs be non alpha females. Caesar could be placed in a home with another male, however, some training and handling of both dogs should be required.

Caesar, a Houston German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Houston, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
