Jewels's Story...
My name is Jewels! I am just a sweet southern girl looking for a good family to call my own. I came to MHCR because I had fallen on hard times and had been living under a car waiting to have my puppies on the East Side of San Antonio, when a very nice person came along and rescued us. Neighbors around the area said that I had been abandoned there for a while, and this was not my first litter of puppies while on the streets. MHCR fixed us all up, and found homes for all of my puppies. I am still hoping for a home, as I’m a very good girl, and I’d be a wonderful family dog!
I was so happy to finally be taken in and cared for, and to not have to worry so much about my 10 puppies being healthy and happy. Now I can just relax in my foster home, knowing that they are safe and I always have a warm place to sleep and another meal on its way.

Jewels is very sweet and loving. She loves to sit with you and just relax. Jewels gets along with other dogs, but her favorite thing to do is cuddle up with her human companions. You can tell she is really excited when her tail wags in a circle! Sometimes she likes to "bury" her food under whatever she can find (a towel or blanket) and then she comes back for it later. She has a great memory! She is a low-maintenance doggy. Jewels has a lot of unique qualities and would make a wonderful addition to any family. She is loyal and will stay by your side with or without a leash. One would never know that humans once abandoned this sweet girl because she holds no grudges, and is loving beyond belief.
