Grove pup-Marvin's Story...
Pups rescued from a Homestead Avocado Grove. They are about 6 weeks old Labrador Shepherd mix. They have some fur missing on their tails from playing and from fleas so we are getting them healthy for adoption in 2 weeks. All are getting used to being handled by human touch and learning to play. They are already adjusting well. So very cute. They have been vaccinated and dewormed and will be spay/neutered and microchipped before adoption. We will take applications and deposits for the pups if you would like to meet them at our Jan 7th adoption show at the PETCO in Homestead. Marvin is one of the larger ones of the bunch. He is a chunk. Has a great playful gentle spirit. Curious about things. Email pets@thisisthedog.com for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Grove pup-Marvin, a Homestead Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler for sale in Homestead, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler puppy from a breeder in Homestead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homestead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homestead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homestead paves the way for another one to be saved.
