My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy is one great dog. She seems to be shy around men at first, but always comes up to kids. She trusts them right off. She has to have sensitive skin dog food. She is given yogurt to help with the skin issues and no chicken. Her foster mom gives her twice as many baths as the others with special shampoo. She likes to be brushed and have her teeth brushed. She snores when she sleeps and seems to have some deafness or maybe selective hearing at times! Her ears are kept cleaned but the vet said it looks like she has had some serious ear infections. She would do better in a quiet home. Although she loves screaming kids, she has a totally different reaction than when her foster mom uses an outside voice. That seems to make her nervous and upset.

Her foster mom can see her in a family with some little girls who would spoil her with a lot of one on one attention and make her wear hats! She has a very gentle and genteel soul, just really elegant or graceful in her manners. She really does seems misplaced in her current foster wayward pack! She will hold her own as you can see in the first video below when as she plays with her foster sister Thea. Lucy, sometimes called Lu-Lu, does not bark very much but will bellow while she has a squirrel on the run!

Final analysis, she is a beautiful little lady that will need someone willing to take care of her skin issues with special diet and bathing. In return they will have the best lady-girl basset hound ever! She is very loyal and loves any and all attention you can give her. On the flip side, she is not needy and seems to have an intuitive awareness to her foster mom's feelings and will go to her dog bed when she just don't feel like petting a dog! We hope she finds a home that will treat her like the little royal princess she is!!!
