Reno's Story...
Meet Reno a Golden Retriever Mix who was about to be PTS at a Southern Kill shelter. Reno is about 1 to 2 years old, but very shy. He is neutered, fully vetted, and micro-chipped. He is looking for a loving, forever home. Reno is friendly with other dogs. We are not sure about cats. He has no aggression issues, but we suspect he was not treated well as a little puppy, and as a result, he is shy, but making progress as he learns that people are good.

If you are interested in adopting, please go to and fill out an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reno, a New Boston Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in New Boston, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in New Boston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Boston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Boston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Boston paves the way for another one to be saved.
