Niko's Story...

Niko is a Dachshund that was born in Dec of 2007.

Niko is typical of the breed and loves the sound of his own voice. Niko will alert bark when someone comes to the door or is walking down the street. Niko is good with other dogs, cats and kids but has a tendency to chase dogs that are higher energy than him. He would not do well in a two story house where he has to go up a full flight of stairs, he will go up and down smaller staircases but just won't do full stairs. He is playful and loves his toys.

Niko is house trained, good on the leash, loves car rides and has a tendency to steal the covers. Niko is a great foot warmer and loves to sleep under the blankets. This great little dog would make a good addition to almost any family.

All of our animals are spayed or neutered, up to date with age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped and come with a 30 day free health insurance. Please email us for an adoption application. Thank You!

Pixie Animal Rescue is run by volunteers. We do not have a facility, so all of our animals are in foster homes. Please give us time to respond to your email. Thank You!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Niko, a Brighton Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Brighton, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Brighton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brighton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brighton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brighton paves the way for another one to be saved.
