My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skipper & Gunner

CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!! Is an accurate description of these precious and adorable little guys. They are so tiny and always together so it’s almost like having one dog. Skipper weighs only 3½ lbs. and Gunner is the heavy weight at 5 lbs. and they are approximately 2-3 yrs. old. We believe they are litter mates and have always been together and we really want them to always stay together. These 2 tiny little boys were intercepted by a rescuer just as they were brought into a high kill shelter by their people. The story goes that they worked long hours and couldn’t be with Skipper and Gunner and promised their child a lizard if he would turn them in at the pound. Skipper and Gunner were terrified and immediately scooped up and placed with a very loving foster family. After a quick adjustment they just settled right in and are now a part of the family, too. Gunner is more social and a bit braver than Skipper who has a tendency toward shyness and prefers to stay under a blanket where he feels safer. They are both very sweet natured and have a good temperament but Skipper can get more testy if he feels fearful. They are definitely lap dogs and cuddle bugs, and are very well behaved, quiet and not very “yappy” as Chihuahuas go. They are crate trained and sit together quietly although they ALWAYS (especially Gunner) prefer to be where their people are and are allowed to sleep in the bed with everyone at night. They go potty outside very well when given plenty of opportunities but sometimes have accidents and need a little work on “holding it”. Skipper and Gunner are both such loves and will do well in a home with other pets of any size and will adjust quickly, as there are large and small dogs in their foster home and everyone gets along great. Would you please consider taking these boys into your home; to be their forever family that will always love them and give them the attention they need and deserve so much?

Skipper and Gunner are both neutered, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations.(AE)
