Here's what the humans have to say about me:
4 - 6 year old Amy came to us when her owner could no longer care for her and the other family dog. Amy is a total sweetheart - and typical good natured labbie in every way. She is also mostly blind and diabetic (requiring insulin injections twice daily). Amy does very well and most people who visit here don't realize that Amy has any handicap unless we tell them. Blind dogs adjust very quickly to their environments and learn to navigate within that environment very well. Amy would need to be kept on leash when away from home or her familiar territory as she would then be unfamiliar with her surroundings and subject to being lost or hurt. This is a VERY nice dog - housebroken, playful, easy going. Won't someone please give Amy another chance at a forever home? If you would like to offer Amy a home, please submit an application which you can find on our website (www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org) Please email it to us for fastest response.
