Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Vincent Van Gogh is a special cat. He’s not a perfect cat…he is missing an ear (we will get to that later). However, he’s a normal cat in most regards. Loves to eat (probably too much), loves lying in soft places, enjoys following his family around the house, and of course loves to be petted. Vincent normally sleeps at the foot of the bed with his fosters and is very good about not taking up much space. One of Vincent’s special talents is bonding to other cats. He normally takes a younger or timid cat in the household and becomes their best buddy.
Vincent’s story with us started when he was a little kitten. He was found outside a business as a tiny kitten. It appeared he had been attacked by a dog. Luckily, he was taken to a great vet. It is a miracle he survived the damage done to him. He had a head injury with damage to the optic nerve, was in a coma for a week, completely blind for weeks and had a broken leg that has now fused, but may result in arthritis in later life. They nursed him back to health and did cosmetic surgery on his ear. You would never know all this happened to him. He acts like a perfectly normal cat just minus an ear. If no one had told me he had been through all that I would never have known from his behavior. However, his eye sight is not 100% normal although he compensates incredibly well. You can’t tell anything is wrong with his eye sight during his normal day to day activities. However, if you get a feather toy out you will see that he isn't as coordinated as the normal cat (not every cat can be a super athlete!). We also believe it makes him a little more cautious with change such as moving to a new home where he is unfamiliar with the surroundings.
Vincent is a very special boy with a lot of love to give. He would do best in a quieter home where he has another furry buddy to take under his wing. He is a loving boy who can be a little shy at first but if you give him the time he needs to get acquainted with his new surroundings he really rewards you.
Vincent is 1-2yr old. He is updated on shots, spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FELV negative. He must be an indoor only cat. He gets along with cat friendly dogs and cats. His adoption fee is $85.
