Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mature, mellow, lovable and dignified....that's me! My name is Lockee(pronounced "low key") & I'm looking for a quiet home & loving family to retire with. I LOVE leisurely walks & I know how to walk really good on leash so I won't pull you down the block like those rambunctious puppies running by. Me & you, we will stroll the neighborhood enjoying the good life! You don't have to worry about me chewing your slippers either. I know my manners for sure!
I lived with one family all of my 14 years & one day they moved & I was left behind. So now I get to hang out at Izzy's Place until my new forever family adopts me. When I first got here my body was so sore from arthritis I didnt want anyone to pet me. Now I take my medicine every day & that means I feel good enough to take walks, trot around the yard & I can even hop up onto the couch all by myself to snuggle next to my foster mom. I like the other dogs at my foster home, especially the older lady-dogs. I wish the cats would play with me but they have no interest.
I'd prefer a home without many stairs as I can go up but I'm afraid to walk down. I need some extra TLC & patience at first, but once I trust you & settle in I'm easy-peasy to get along with.
So, all I really need is a loving person, a comfy home, good food, daily walks and my arthritis medication. Whatta ya say? Wanna meet me?
Our adoption process includes completion of an Adoption Application, Phone Interview, and Home Visit. Our foster homes have the final say in which applicant is the best fit for their foster dog. It is not a first come, first serve basis.
We are not a shelter. Each dog is placed in an approved foster home, or reside at the small sanctuary, until adopted.
