My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is a beautiful, I'm talking Bea-Yew-Tee-Full, 2 year old Golden Retriever/St. Bernard mix. He's a good sized boy at around 80 pounds and has very unusual marking. Mostly golden brown, he has a brown, black and white muzzle, a white chest, white tipped paws and the slightest white tip at the end of his tail like he dipped it in a bucket of white paint. Although found as a stray, Max is definitely no stranger to living in a household. He knows his basic commands, sit, stay and come (sometimes), mastered the dog door and stairs in his foster home almost immediately and doesn't get up on the furniture, even at the coaxing of his foster dad. He appears to be housetrained, is good on free roam, and does very well with other dogs. We have not seen him with cats or small children as yet so we will have to look at those cases as they come up.

Max is very playful and full of energy, but most of all he is a "let's go" kind of dog. He loves his walks, trips to the dog park, trips to the supermarket, trips to, well just about anywhere you are going. So get your leash, which he is very well behaved on, and let's get going. This is a fairly high energy dog and needs to go to a home where that is appreciated and embraced. At the same time he enjoys being close to his humans and is at this moment curled up at my feet while I am typing this. Max would do best in a forever home with active individuals who are looking for a companion. He would love to have a four legged brother or sister but would probably do fine as an only dog as long as he is able to get socialization at a dog park, doggie daycare or some setting like that. Max is lovable to the extreme, smart, super sweet and, did I mention this before, absolutely gorgeous. Who wouldn't want a dog like that.
