My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brownie is a 126lb., neutered, purebred, Brown Newfoundland with a very sweet and loving disposition. He is 5 years old, healthy, up to date on vaccinations and on heart-worm preventative.

He is a laid back guy that will love to hang around the house with his owners. He is quiet natured and happy to sleep at your feet, wherever they may be. Brownie is currently living with three other Newfs and is getting along wonderfully, although he is not a playful companion....more like a napping Buddy.

Brownie was previously an outside dog and did not have formal training. However, he understands the word "no" and is compliant when it is used. When faced with new situations Brownie will shut-down and put on his stubborn- Newf act. But given some encouragement and patience, he moves past it. He is now moving about our indoor and outdoor stairs with ease. Brownie has been inside our home since he arrived and has decided he prefers being an inside dog. He is a naturally respectful guy and is learning the rules of the house. Although he was never formally housebroken, Brownie learned not to potty in the house in one day. He currently takes two walks a day and is getting good practice walking on the leash. He does not pull on the leash and prefers to leisurely stroll around the neighborhood over a speed walking session.

Brownie is good with kids and loves to receive ear and tummy rubs, but he is not a high energy guy that wants to rough-house. Brownie has lived with other dogs all his life and gets a little distressed when isolated, so he would prefer a home where he is not left alone.

Our adoption fee is $250.00. A fenced yard with a minimum height of 4-feet is required for adoption.

If you plan on submitting an application and you are out of our region, once your application is approved we require that you come to our area to meet the dog and foster family. If that goes well you will be able to take your Newfie home with you.
