Barkley's Story...
THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. If you want more information, please email: sandytalmadge@sbcglobal.net

Barkley is a 4-years-old brown & tan Chihuahua. He is crate trained and house broken. He likes food (can see from the pictures). He gets along well with other dogs, loves to be scratched and loves walks. Can be shy around strangers, but once he knows you will not hurt him he will be your best friend. Barkley likes to cuddle on the couch and when cold he likes to snuggle under a blanket.

If interested in this little guy, email Sandy at: sandytalmadge@sbcglobal.net or fill out the adoption application on our website: www.pawsofaustin.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barkley, a Austin Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Austin, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
