My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings from Chicago English Bulldog Rescue (CEBR FOR SHORT). We are the ONLY 501c3 English Bully rescue in Illinois! Don’t be fooled by our name, we cover a large Midwest territory. Ready…Set…Go…! My name is Lola. I’m an itty-bitty 6-year-old bully girl. That’s right only 36lbs, and as healthy as can be. My previous family had trouble finding enough time for me, so they had to make a very hard, responsible decision to surrender me to CEBR. Lucky for you, their loss is your gain. I really am super sweet and just want to be your little shadow. I’m having fun in foster care, but of course I can’t wait to find my perfect family! What did you say…? It might be you? That’s awesome. Listen up!

First of all I really cherish time with humans. So if you could please be around for me then I’ll be the happiest bully in town. It doesn’t matter what we do for fun, although I do get really excited to go on walks. Just to let you know I’m a pretty fast walker so I hope you can keep up. Don’t get me wrong I love lazy days too. As part of my lazy days, I’ve discovered how cozy the couch and/or bed can be, especially if the sun is in just the right spot. What girl doesn’t love a good tan? Did I forget to mention that my markings are quite unique? My foster parents think I look like a bully-coon. I have black markings around each of my eyes. Oh, and don’t forget about my silly oversized tongue, that always sticks out a tad. Since we’re talking about my tongue, I guess I should let you know that I love to give kisses. I hope you don’t mind that ooey gooey stuff.

I promise I’ll be your precious sidekick, but it may take me a day or two to warm up to a new environment. No biggie right? Theses are big changes for anybody. Once I know you the kisses come out in full force. Sometimes I can be a little demanding, but I’m super smart and listen well when told “no.” Really, my only demand is someone to love me up. I do need some work on walks. I tend to move really fast and I don’t always like passing other dogs. With some work though, I think I can get much better with these issues. I haven’t traveled much, but I think I would be fine just about anywhere. Ideally, I would do best as the only dog in the house. I can somewhat coexist with other dogs, but other female dogs make me nervous and I will try to show them who’s boss. To be honest, I’m a better bully all around when I fly solo. I can’t say I know what a cat is but they can’t be that bad. A home with older kids would be perfect. Let me know what you think…we’ll have some fun!

Your girl,

Lola XOXO

NOTE FROM THE HUMANS

Lola’s adoption fee is $525. Our adoption criteria for Lola are as follows:
  • CEBR Adoption Radius Only. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • A home that will let her settle in and be patient while she adjusts.
  • LOTS AND LOTS of walks and exercise. This girl can go, go go!
  • No other dogs in the home please. She should be an only.
  • She would do best in a quiet neighborhood (city or burbs). Definitely not a hi-rise kind of girl but would do fine in a neighborhood setting.
  • A family that is home a lot of the time to give her plenty of attention and “me-time”.
