My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SIR SAMPSON is a 5 yr old standard poodle who weighs about 66 lbs. He likes children and adults, but we would not recommend him in a home with very young children as he is large and active and be a bit rough when he is playing.

SIR SAMPSON is a great dog, although he does have small prey aggression. This may sound frightening but it only means that his instinct to hunt is very strong. Poodles were originally were bred for hunting, thus his high prey drive. Our wish for him is to find a family without small animals, small dogs or cats and owners that would not view him as broken; instead they would work with him to teach him to curve his instincts and live peacefully with little critters. Other large dogs would be great for him if they want to play!

To some that sounds like a tall order but we believe in him and will wait for an experienced owner to give him a chance. Most standards just need to be loved and cared for, to become the sweet, smart, loving creatures that they are!

SIR SAMPSON is being fostered in PALM BEACH county. To learn more about adopting him, go to http://www.coastalpoodlerescue.org/poodles/poodledetail.cfm?DogID=1454
