Nothing excites Ingrid like meal time. Ingrid comes running from the furthest corners of the house when she hears the jingle of food hitting her dish. To say Ingrid eats with gusto might be an understatement...she dives head first into her dry food bowl and eats with so much enthusiasm that the bowl slides across the floor. Does this bother Ingrid? Nope. Even as the bowl slides, Ingrid keeps right on eating! Sometimes as she eats, she'll purr and knead the ground to express her pure joy at the simple fact it's chow time! Ingrid also enjoys having company as she eats - she figures why dine alone when you can look up at your person, purr happily, send them that adoring gaze of yours and convince them to sit down a spell and shoot the breeze with you? Actually, it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that Ingrid is a social eater...after all, it combines her 2 favorite things, people and food! Ingrid also has a funny habit when it comes to drinking water. She loves to drink directly from the faucet and lets you know when she wants it turned on in the morning and in the evening.
Considering how much Ingrid loves to eat, it's good that she also enjoys playtime as well to help her keep the kitty pounds off (or at least some of them!) Although Ingrid dabbles in crinkly balls and mice, it is swizzle and feather wands that gets this girl's attention! Dangle the swizzle or feather wand above Ingrid's tummy and watch Ingrid roll from side to side until she finally snags her prey! Once Ingrid is back on all 4 paws, she will crouch low, wiggle her rear end, and POUNCE! When she's feeling really feisty, Ingrid has actually gone airborne in her attempts to capture the wand and when she's successful, she will growl menacingly at her victim, striking fear in it's heart, that beware...toys will be shown no mercy! Other playtime activities Ingrid adores include bird watching from her favorite window sill and playing the flashlight game with her foster family's 2-year-old daughter!
After breakfast and morning playtime, Ingrid enjoys napping the day away under the bedcovers. It's pretty funny...Ingrid looks as if she's tucked herself into bed! It didn't take long for her foster family to learn to look for the "bump" on the bed before setting anything on the bed during the day! By napping during the day, Ingrid is well rested and prepared to spend the afternoon and evening hanging out with her people!
Ingrid is a lovely, sweet cat who doesn't ask for much. She gets along great with the resident dog (a 7-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer) and in the past has gotten along fine with other mellow and friendly kitties. She can?t wait to find a family to call her own, a family where she can share all the love and companionship that she has already enriched her foster family with. Ingrid is easy to love - she is quite simply, irresistible. Please consider enriching your life by opening your heart and home to this sweet and funny girl. To learn more - www.azrescue.org.
